The S-boom telescopic booms made by Genie have been outfitted with a reach ranging from 9.65 meters and 24.38 meters and an ability to work in heights of 14.20 meters to 40.15 meters. Telescoping booms have a much greater range of reach horizontally than compared to other aerial work platforms. Genie telescopic booms are engineered with consideration to being able to access tight areas during construction and industrial jobs. They are also known for their ability to maneuver through a job site quickly and with great traction and drive speed. The platform turns 160° hydraulically and is able to stay level through the whole range. Front-entry platforms come with 227 kilogram to 272 kilogram capacity for operators and tools and are available from 1.83 meters to 2.44 meters. 360° continuous rotating turntables offer operators easy, quick positioning.
The Z-135/70 model has a telescoping jib, known as the Jib-Extend, that goes from 3.66 meters to 6.1 meters. This model could also reach 110° vertically to give the user the ability to reach jobs which were previously unreachable by standard jibs. The Z-80/60 unit's secondary reverse-articulating boom gives the user 8.83 meters of over and up reach. This feature allows over and up reaching tasks to be done with zero front arm swing.
Genie also provides the Fast Mast system which allows for valuable time to be saved when both primary and secondary booms have to be lifted or for lowering the platform without having to lower the secondary boom. The Fast Mast system allows both booms to be raised fully simultaneously. Both of these features of the Genie Fast Mast system lessens the time required for users to descend and ascend, increasing both efficiency and production.
