Narrow Aisle Forklift
A narrow aisle forklift is made for lifting and lowering loaded pallets from high storage spaces. This particular type is recommended for work places with narrow spaces between aisles, such as warehouses or retail environments. The forklift has small, solid rubber tires which make maneuvering very simple.
The operator of this particular kind of forklift normally stands up inside a small cockpit. The stand-up design allows the narrow aisle forklift to be as narrow ans short as possible. A stand-up cockpit forklift normally has three tires: two in the front, and one in the rear. This configuration allows for fast and easy maneuvering. There are some versions of these forklifts which are available with a sit-down cockpit. The lift attachment is capable of pivoting to the sides, permitting the lift to be operated without the operator having to reposition the whole equipment. The sit-down version usually has four wheels.
Numerous narrow aisle forklifts are powered by an electric engine. Machines which are electrically powered are not noisy and do not produce exhaust fumes, making them the preferred choice for closed areas like for instance retail spaces. Some lifts come with a diesel engine or a gas engine. Then again, the diesel version is not suggested for indoor application as it can be noisy and produce exhaust.
