Dangers of Type-G forklifts
The forklift is essential for completing warehouse tasks. These extremely capable machinery lift and move loads of huge size from one location to another. Forklifts have many variations. The main variation is the way in which different kinds of forklifts are fueled. "LP" lift trucks are the type that is most popular. They use liquid propane. Type "E" lift trucks have large rechargeable batteries and run on electricity. Type "D" lift trucks utilize diesel and type "G" run on gasoline. Though all kinds of forklifts, similar to any piece of heavy machinery, could pose a hazard, the kind of forklifts that are fueled by gasoline carry the most risks.

Fire
Forklifts labelled type G can present a fire hazard. Gas lift trucks are not made with the same rigorous standards. Gas leaks are the biggest cause of fire due mostly to gas leaks and also escaped gas fumes. This can result from normal wear and from accidents or driving on really rough terrain. These circumstances pose a danger and can cause fire. Hence, a standard Type G lift truck must never be used in conditions where elevated fire risk is deemed unacceptable. For example, these units must not be used around hazardous or explosive chemicals.

Explosion
Type G lift trucks also pose a risk of explosion, as do those that operate on diesel and liquid propane. A gasoline powered forklift can explode as a result of a serious accident in circumstances where a gasoline leak and an ignition source are present. An explosion could occur when sparks are created in the collision and the sparks ignite the gasoline.

Fumes and Exhaust
Type G lift trucks pose a serious inhalation danger because of toxic fumes. Gasoline fumes can be deadly in high concentrations. Fumes could result from gasoline leaks or from the exhaust itself. Therefore, a Type G forklift is not suggested for any environment that is poorly ventilated. The exhaust will present a serious danger in enclosed places. This particular type of lift truck should be utilized with caution when operated near individuals.
