Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They could run utilizing gasoline, liquid propane or LP gas, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many uses. There are various facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
So as to avoid potentially serious injury, certain precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for example: be sure to put on the appropriate safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Don't forget that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened by hand only.
