Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck often goes by other names like: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of machinery are basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to enable the operator to walk alongside the machine as they lift and move cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to transport tall or unstable loads utilizing these machinery. A rider could be the right answer if you are looking for a cheap method for transporting cargo from point A to point B. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right choice.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is specifically made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles that could work in aisles of less than six feet. They are very useful pieces of machine in physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
